Tak Chee House

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry it has been so long that I have written a post! But I'm so thankful to have an awesome blogging partner like Huiyi, and as you can tell, she's a more dedicated worker too. Lol!

Anyway! Last Sunday, Chris, Loo, Huiyi and myself went to eat chicken rice at Tak Chee House!
Chris and Loo have been raving about it for a while and I knew I could trust them because they are expert chefs themselves (they can open a gourmet pizza shop!)

The shop is situated along William Street in Northbridge and is just a few shops down from Good Fortune Roast Duck (which is yummy too!)

The outside of the shop - so excited!!! Before eating at Tak Chee House, I hadn't eaten chicken rice in AGES...and I really missed it! Who doesn't like chicken rice?!?!?!

The shop has a variety of different types of chicken rice - steamed, fried (actually it's roasted) and fried garlic chicken as well as loads of other noodles etc too. But OF COURSE, we decided to stick to ordering what we craved the most - a WHOLE steamed chicken!

Here's the steamed chicken sitting in a bed of yummy sauce! The pieces were all super tender and the breast meat (mine and Huiyi's favourite part) was super yummmmaayyy!!!

The chicken rice!
Doesn't look that great in the picture, but it was so tasty!! Chris ate his rice at SUPER speed! He finished it before all of us (not surprising), but he also finished his second plate before we all finished our first!!! (VERY SURPRISING! haha)

Chris and Loo! :):):)
Look at Chris - all ready to start on his rice..haha!

Huiyi and I :)

Ooh, forgot to add that we also ordered ice lemon tea! They told us it was "homemade", but it really tastes like the Lipton powder form ice lemon tea that was mixed with water!!! Didn't like it. :( Nothing beats ice lemon tea from the coffee shop.

Price:
Chicken rice (single serve): $9
Whole steamed chicken, 5 plates of rice, 2 ice lemon teas and 2 canned drinks = $44

The Meal:
Not too sure whether it was because I really missed chicken rice...but the meal tasted absolutely DELICIOUS to me!!! The fragrant rice, the tender chicken and the yummy sauce! Lovely!!!

The Ambience:
Just like any other Chinese restaurant in Northbridge!

The Service:
Thought it was pretty good! Pretty fast and efficient and the man was very nice, patient and helpful! :)
(although he lied about "homemade" ice lemon tea. haha)

Overall:
Really enjoyed the meal and would definitely recommend it! Especially to anyone who is craving some yummy chicken rice! :D

Actually!!!I realise that I HAVE been eating chicken rice...and not that long ago too! The chicken rice that we cook at home! But obviously wasn't as nice if I couldn't even remember it. Lol!

ps don't order the ice white tea (teh peng) there! Really watery and lousy! We dabao-ed it and they gave it in a plastic soup container! haha. very funny!
